What is role of the humanities in sciences and new technologies? We will discuss the role of the humanities in artificial intelligence, genetics, robotics, and other new technologies. What is the role of the humanities in shaping new technologies? What does it mean to be “human” in the realm of artificial intelligence? How do robots, automation, cyborgs, and other new technologies change the workplace and our participation in it? How can/should ethics shape new technologies, like genetic manipulation, and their uses? How do new technologies impact society, diversity, and socioeconomic factors?
